Since 2023, the Mexican Embassy in the U.K., has organized the exhibition entitled “iPresent” with a selection of Mexican artists living in this welcoming country. Each artist showing their representation of individual experiences through art in all formats: Paintings, sculpture, installation, photography, music, and in 2024 they included poetry as well. Besides the exhibition, this is an opportunity to meet people from my country living in the U.K., and have a night of fun with tequila, mezcal, Mexican music and the warmth of a Mexican party for and by Mexicans. I feel grateful with the Mexican Embassy and their effort to bring us all together and celebrate with art. In 2023 I presented a portrait of the late Queen Elizabeth, and in this year’s exhibition I chose my painting entitled “Amniotic #2”. Below some photos of this events.

Open4 – Park Royal Exhibition 2023

As every year, Excelsior Studios -the place where I am renting a painting studio- had an exhibition where every artist that is based at this workshop, can show one of their recent pieces. This year (2023) Park Royal Gallery opened their space during October to present the show entitled “Open 4”, and I chose my painting “Amniotic 5” to participate. Here is a video that shows the space, my painting, and a quick look at the other paintings from my colleagues.
July 2023,

Last May 2022 Barbara (my wife) and I moved to London, and since the place we are renting doesn’t have an ideal space to paint, she insisted on renting a studio for me.

After searching a few options, we decided that Excelsior Studios on Park Royal borough was good. There I met Ray who is the manager of the space, and a cool dude! Among the advice he gave, he told me that it is very important to have a web page and an Instagram account. The Instagram account was easy to get, but I knew the web page was going to be a great challenge!

A few months ago, I bought and read the book “How to sell your art online” by Cory Huff, where I got the inspiration and the final push I needed for the go ahead on the web site.

So, I started researching how to accomplish my goal, and after having a look at several YouTube videos on the subject, I decided to follow the tutorial “How To Make A WordPress Website ~ 2023 ~ The Ultimate WordPress Tutorial For Beginners” by David Lowe -AKA Webyoda- and during last May, June and July, I watched his 2:45 hours video a bunch of times, going back and forth until I got the results I wanted.

OBVIOUSLY, this web site still needs lot of work and improvements to add, but I am grateful that finally, it is presentable.

On this section -BLOG- I will be pouring my thoughts and feelings out, to try to describe the ups and downs of being a self-taught artist, on the long and winding road to conquering a market on a foreign land Jajajaja!

Thanks for reading and visiting this site.

Julio 2023,
